Chapter Five: Charged with Duty

The worst has come; and the fears of the emperor come true. As soon as Baurus finished off the last of the assassins, we both charged to help the emperor. Unfortunately, the blade had already pierced his heart and left him dead. The escape was folly.

Cassius, himself, took it very hard. He was told to protect the emperor, and he had failed. The Imperial had began a bloody punishment to the assassin. As Baurus told him to stop, Cassius continued, turning the mortal into a pulp of blood-fruit. Baurus checked the Emperor and became discouraged.

---

Well, me and Cassius are now heading through the sewers, towards the exit and out of this damned prison.

Cassius and Baurus had engaged in a heated conversation after the death of Uriel Septim VII. He and his heirs were dead. Cassius explained that the amulet he was given was to be used to find the heir to the empire. Odd, considering all his sons were dead.

We... Well Cassius was asked of his profession. I didn't bare to listen. I was completely ignored again.

I, myself, am... well, I call myself a 'Pariah'. I have skill with a bow, and a blade. A little magic here and there. I was also born under the sign of 'The Lord'... I, for one, do not follow the nine divines, or any of the gods. We aren't on the best of terms.

Well, Baurus decided I was far too idiotic to have killed the emperor... which I heavily resent.

Luckily for us, the sewers are filled with nothing but rats, mud crabs, and goblins.

---

For hours we have traveled through the dankness of the sewers. The smell was enough to kill any commoner, and the mudcrabs sifting through the sewer water was enough to make any race, even a goblin would throw up whatever they had been eating.

Hm. A very original tale, and a nice comic twist indeed. I've been considering doing something like this with my own character(s), although with more of a serious nature, and one at a time. I like this a great deal, and hope it progresses smoothly for you, continuing into the ongoing years of this unfortunate Khajiit's adventures. Cheers.

Gamertag is Sithirak, if you play the 360 version
